Nancy Walsh is responsible for the entire portfolio of B2B and B2C business. Known as a results-oriented, customer-focused leader, Nancy has been successful in driving business growth, generating revenues and delivering customer value for Reed through collaboration, partnerships and great relationships. During her time with Reed, Nancy has been successful in engaging her teams, motivating them and instilling loyalty and excitement throughout the organization. Nancy's leadership, marketing insight and industry expertise have strengthened Reed's culture of innovation and extended its product portfolio and industry reach. She is currently leading Reed's expansion into the Mexican market, strengthening the company's presence and leadership in North America.

Melissa Ashley

Melissa Ashley joined Reed Exhibitions in September of 2015 as Senior Vice President. She oversees a diverse portfolio of events that includes both mature shows such as the National Hardware Show and Vision Expo as well as launches. Melissa's most recent position was as VP Events, Cross Platform Businesses at Bloomberg BNA. As part of a 3 person leadership team tasked with building out new revenue streams across a number of Bloomberg verticals, Melissa oversaw product development, operations, sales and audience development. She led teams responsible for conceptualizing and producing both editorial driven events as well as custom programs for large corporations such as VISA, Boeing, GE and Qualcomm.

Prior to Bloomberg BNA, Melissa was part of the leadership team at IIR USA, a subsidiary of the Institute for International research, the events division of Informa plc (London, UK). As a Managing Director at IIR USA, she spent over nine years overseeing the sponsorship and exhibition sales teams, developing new products, evaluating new business opportunities on a global basis and implementing acquisitions. Under her leadership, profitable events were curated in diverse markets from Grand Cayman to Dubai.

Before IIR, Melissa spent three years in leadership roles at DoubleClick Media. As part of the executive team, she was instrumental in orchestrating the merger between DoubleClick Media and L90.

Prior to joining DoubleClick, Melissa spent over three years managing U.S. media programs at NBA Properties where her responsibilities ranged from developing and selling-in cross platform media programs for national advertisers to being part of the launch team for nba.com.

Earlier in her career she held several positions in advertising at New York ad agencies.

Melissa graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University. She currently resides in Rye Brook, NY with her daughter.

Tom Loughran is responsible for managing all aspects of the International Vision Expo shows, including sales, marketing, conference, operations and registration. Loughran joined Reed Exhibitions in 1999 as a sales executive on International Vision Expo & Conference. After serving as sales manager for National Manufacturing Week, Loughran returned to International Vision Expo in 2004. Promoted to group sales director in 2006 and then to director in 2007, Loughran has been in his present position since 2009. He has developed strong relationships with show co-owner The Vision Council and with International Vision Expo exhibitors. Before joining the trade show industry, Loughran served as a captain in the United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Operation Sea Angel, a humanitarian relief effort in Bangladesh.

A longtime optical industry veteran, Mike Daley serves as Chief Executive Officer of The Vision Council, a non-profit trade association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of the optical industry. Mike began his optical career as an instructor with Ferris State University in 1975. He began working with Essilor in 1976 as a Varilux Corporation sales consultant, quickly receiving several promotions including positions as assistant technical manager, product manager, director of technical services, vice president of laboratory operations and subsequently to vice president of sales. In 1989, Daley was promoted to president of Varilux Corporation.  In 1996, Daley was appointed president and COO of Essilor of America's United States Lens Division, known as Essilor Lenses, following the merger of Varilux Corporation with Silor to form Essilor of America, and retired from that position in 2008 after 34 years with Essilor. To continue advancing the optical community, Daley serves as a board member or in a leadership position for a number of optical organizations including Optometry Cares – the American Optometric Association Foundation, Prevent Blindness America, The Illinois College of Optometry Board of Trustees, and Past Chairman of The Vision Council.

Ashley works closely with Reed Exhibitions and The Vision Council's Show and Exhibitor Advisory Committees to establish and direct the long range strategic goals and objectives of the International Vision Expo family of tradeshows. With a background in public relations, consulting, and consumer marketing – Ashley most recently served as the Director of Communications for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland.


Reed Exhibitions & The Vision Council

International Vision Expos, the worldwide conference and exhibition for eye care and eyewear, are trade-only events which draw more than 30,000 eye care professionals each year. Co-owned by Reed Exhibitions and The Vision Council, International Vision Expo gives back to the entire ophthalmic community. Proceeds from International Vision Expo are used by The Vision Council to educate consumers about the importance of vision care and the options in eyewear and other related products. In 2014, The Vision Council has already reached millions of consumers with its messages through marketing materials, public relations outreach and strategic partnerships.
